Welcome to a 2 week catch-up from parkrunland.
Lets start first with a diary reminder – Next week is the TRC monthly outing. This month we are off to Houghton Hall on 17th May. A friendly local flat tarmac course. Further details can be found here https://www.parkrun.org.uk/houghtonhall/course/. Some TRC stats for Houghton Hall – Josh Frewin holds the fastest time with an 18:40 with Sally Nash on 21:40 being the fastest female. Most runs at Houghton Hall from TRC is Jose Hetherington.
Both the last 2 weeks saw an identical number of TRC runners with 42 of us running each week.
Last week saw Huw Moreton run his 100th parkrun (61% Wendover, 6% Tring, 17% single parkrun visits). Congratulations Huw! Also, congratulations to Hermione Houston for her 100th Wendover Woods run.
2 younger members of the club were on the podium last week. Sarah Needleman was 1st female at Wendover Woods with a new personal course PB of 21:27 whilst Josh Frewin also ran a course PB at Dunstable in 18:22 coming in 3rd. Well done both.
Other course PBs included Jez Woods with 21:00 at Cassiobury, Emma Adcock 25:27 at Trentham Gardens and Emmaleen Muldoon 41:23 at Church Mead.
Lydia Vye was our furthest travelled with her trip to Caffarella in Rome.
This week, Katie Haines was our furthest travelled with her trip to South Africa. Visiting Hazelmere Dam in Durban, she was the first finisher in a small field of 9 runners. Well done Katie on being our only podium finisher this week. Alison and Chris Bill were also touring with their trip to the lovely Lucca parkrun in Italy.
And finally, congrats this week to Jamie Lee for setting a new all-time PB by 8 seconds with a time of 22:48 at Aylesbury. Well done Jamie!
Hopefully see a number of you at Houghton Hall on Saturday. The cafe is near the finish line – so it would be good to see a good crowd for that too. This one is larger than the café in Amersham – so should be able to fit us in!
