3 week parkrun roundup

A couple of weeks away on holiday means a 3-week parkrun roundup this week. Over these 3 weeks, 129 parkruns have been run by 68 members across 32 different locations.

Impressively as we enter March we still have 7 members with a 100% record attendance this year.

Podiums over the past few weeks for Lynda Hembury (1st at Church Mead and 3rd at Wendover Woods), Christina Stevens (2nd at Dunstable Downs on 2 occasions), Mary Ward (2nd at Wendover Woods), Kat Sizer (3rd at Wendover Woods), Lorraine Hurford (3rd at Houghton Hall) and Fraser Willcox (3rd overall at Rickmansworth).

Congratulations to Sue Frewin for her 250th parkrun (30% Tring, 4% Wendover Woods, 21% single visit tourism) and Tony Hill for his 50th parkrun (72% Wendover Woods, 22% Tring, 6% Aylesbury).

Well done Sue! – Celebrating her 250th at muddy Oaklands College

Huw Moreton knocked an impressive 44 seconds off his PB to bring it down to 20:38. By coincidence an impressive 44 second improvement also for Fraser Willcox improving his PB to 17:09 moving him from 9th to 3rd on the clubs fastest parkrunners list.

4 parkruns were visited for the 1st time. Explorers venturing into the unknown included Tom and Hugh Moreton at Worcester Pitchcroft, Anna Ashwell at Vicar Water Country Park, Neil and Emma Adcock at Mildenhall Hub and Jules Wake at Ingrebourne Hill.

Hermione Houston continues to win our “furthest travelled with her stay in New Zealand followed by Geoff Roser and John Shelton running in South Africa. Within the UK, the more distant journeys were Pam Stonebrook in Blackpool, Christina Stevens in Torbay and Tamsin and Dave Leybourne’s trip to Dolgellau.

Hermione showed true dedication this week, with her plane from NZ landing at Heathrow at 7am, she still managed to make a late start at Wendover Woods and catch the tailwalker and some of the field.

Whilst on the tourist trail, well done to Jules Wake who visited her 50th different location and to Louise Bladen who visited her 25th.

Some aesthetically pleasing times by Tony Stewart 25:25, Lynda Hembury 23:32, Cathy Court 30:03 and Sue Frewin 32:32.
