Lots of tourism
Well we waited 2 years to see last week our 4th highest overall total of 55 runners and yet here we are a week later with, yes you guessed it, another 55, although this week spread across 19 parkruns, our 3rd highest number of different locations.
Wendover (20 runners), and Dunstable Downs (10) were the main clusters with the other 25 spread across 17 parkruns.
Great to see all the photos being sent in to the WhatsApp chat. Here are a selection.

5 locations had never seen the TRC stripes before, so well done to this week’s adventurous explorers including Paul McCormack at Great Dunmow near Stansted, Sue Frewin at Dreiländergarten near Basel in Germany, Tamsin and David Leybourne at Cabinteely on the outskirts of Dublin, Clare and Richard Murphy at Flatts Lane near Middlesbrough and Emma and Neil Adcock at Rutland Water (our club 25th closest not previously visited). Between us we have now visited 603 different parkrun locations.
Angelo and Ros continued their FA cup touring with a visit to Poolsbrook parkrun, situated on the site of the former Ireland Colliery. Later in the day they saw their non-league Horsham FC lose 3-1 to Chesterfield FC. Eagerly watching the 2nd round draw, they could have got a possible draw against local team Chesham United who (at the time of writing) are still in the cup, but instead Chesterfield have been drawn away to Exeter City, so a longer trip south-west, at the end of the month for Ros & Angelo.
Hilary and Ian Needleman were our furthest travelled, running at Toyen in Oslo. 78% of TRC Norwegian parkrunning has been at Toyen which is also the most northerly parkrun that we have recorded.
Well done to Huw Moreton who, with his weekly mention, achieved an all-time PB of 21:22 (an improvement of 1 second!) with his visit to Edgbaston Reservoirs.
Congrats to this week’s podiums including Josh Frewin (2nd at Wendover), Louise Bladen (3rd female at Dunstable) and Mary Ward (3rd female at Wendover).
Just a reminder that our next TRC parkrun visit will be on 23rd November – travelling north to Linford Wood (in Milton Keynes) https://www.parkrun.org.uk/linfordwood/
With Alison Bill being Run Director at Wendover on 23rd November, she and Chris took the opportunity to run there this week, achieving an aesthetically pleasing time of 31:13.
