Despite the Brenda Barlow ORC the next day, there were still an impressive 49 members who ran a parkrun on Saturday covering 18 different locations. 15 at Wendover, 6 at Rushmere and 4 at Cassiobury. After a possible 6 parkruns, an impressive 14 runners still have a 100% attendance record this year, and a further 14 have missed just 1.
Our only podium this week was Josh Frewin who was 1st at Cassiobury with an impressive time of 17:30, knocking almost a minute off his previous best there from March ’22.
There were further course PBs for both Emma and Neil Adcock (Harrow), Louise Bladen (Wollaton Hall), and Lydia Vye (Milton Keynes).
Thanks to Katie Haines and Jose Hetherington for planting the TRC flag at the previously unvisited University of Northampton parkrun. A useful local “U” if you want one of those for your alphabet!
Well done to Brian Evans for running at his 10th different parkrun location, with a run at the very interesting Eden Project parkrun. He was also our furthest travelled in the UK.
Furthest travelled this week was Chris Grimmette at Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand with a 5k out and back circuit around the scenic Queenstown Gardens.
Aesthetically pleasing times were run by Sue Frewin with 27:27 at Cassiobury and Wayne McGuire with 30:30 at Wendover.
Did you have a go at guessing our most visited “K’s” – Well the answers were…. Kings Lynn (thanks to Ashley Mitchell), Keswick (thanks to Nicola Davidson, Stuart and Carole Page and Mike and Mary Ward) and impressively Krakow (from various club holiday makers).
Now we move on to “L’s”. Can you guess them. This should be a bit easier as they are all quite local.
Our next TRC trip is on 8th February is to the recently started Oaklands College in St Albans. Further details can be found here https://www.parkrun.org.uk/oaklandscollege/course/ Off road trainers are recommended as it is very muddy,

The course is a tough mixed terrain course run on grass, trails, concrete and compacted paths starting and finishing in front of the college’s beautiful mansion house. Hopefully see lots of you there in your zebra stripes next Saturday.
