The Ridgeway Run is a challenging trail run of approximately 15 kilometres (9.6 miles) over a scenic route, mainly on footpaths and bridleways with stunning Chiltern views.
Established in 1982, the run starts on the outskirts of Tring and the course gradually ascends into the Ashridge Estate, past the Bridgewater Monument, takes in a stretch of the famous Ridgeway path and Pitstone Hill before descending back along quiet paths into Tring and finishing at the Cricket Club.
LATE ENTRY: we will be leaving the online entry open (up to a limit of 650) until midday on Saturday 10 October. There will be NO paper entry option at the venue, all entries must be done online. Please bring your receipt and you will be given your race number. There are no refunds or deferrals for this event.
TRANSFERS: you will be able to transfer your entry to another participant until Thursday 1 October at midday – any transfers not completed at this point will remain in the original entrant’s name.
TREES NOT TEES: This year, to reflect how much Tring Running Club’s members appreciate the beautiful woodland trails we are so fortunate to run in, we are committing a portion of the event’s proceeds to planting 200 trees through the Trees not Tees initiative.
JOGON: This year, we will be collecting old running shoes and sending these to JogOn to prevent them from ending up in landfill. Please just tie the laces together, make sure they are dry and bring them along!
What to expect on the day:
- Finisher’s iconic branded snood
- A prize for the male and female who break the current course male and female record and set new records in each category. Current records are: Male- Fabian Downes 52.40 (2015); Female- Freya Weddell 56.45 (2025)
- Place, veteran and team prizes (male team: 3 to qualify; female team 3 to qualify)
- Fully marshalled course with water stations at 3 & 6 miles
- Changing facilities (female and male showers) and plenty of loos
- Refreshments available at the Cricket Club pavilion
