Sunny in South Africa and Wales

This week there were 38 of us running with 11 at Wendover and 9 meeting up at Houghton Hall.

Our part of the country was quite overcast. In fact I could have done with gloves as I had an early start to walk to Houghton Hall to meet up with the TRC group there. Looking at the photos South Africa and Wales were having more of the sunshine, but it did mean that we had a nice temperature for running.

Furthest travelled was once again Katie Haines visiting Piggly Wiggly in South Africa. Well done Katie for being our only podium finisher with a 3rd placed female finish.

Lorraine Hurford and Clare Murphy continue their parkrun streaks – still having not missed any parkruns in 2025. They are now up to 21 each!

There were course PBs for Dave Cary at Shepton Mallett by about a minute, Huw Moreton at Wendover Woods by 3 seconds and Sue Frewin at Westmill by 40 seconds. Well done all

This week’s aesthetically pleasing time goes to Emma Adcock with her matching 26:26 at Reading.

Clive Cohen and Paul Allen managed to squeeze in a parkrun at Ludlow on their cycle trip to the Welsh borders.

A special mention to the following for volunteering this week: Helen Tullie, Jules Wake, Lydia Vye, Ros Cranston and Simon Stevenson. Apologies if I have omitted anyone.

Our next TRC outing is to Cassiobury on 28th June. As it is the last Saturday of the month there will be pacers so for anyone chasing a PB, this will be a good one to visit. Further details can be found here https://www.parkrun.org.uk/cassiobury/course/.
